First Class with three girls

Have just run Wise Owls first full class for three young girls. A great success and they have all signed up. Also has a walk-in inquiry and that girl’s mother also signed her up. So, we are off to a good start. Let’s hope it continues…….

Introducing Teacher Mike Founder of Wise Owls English

Teacher Mike has spent the last 40 years living in Hong Kong working in a variety of jobs from the Police, to journalism, to the high technology arena and more recently teaching English to both adults and young children. He has an affinity for working with children with whom he is able to establish an unique rapport, cultivating a sort of friendly grandfather approach which seems to work very well and fosters a great deal of trust and mutual respect. Conscious that children spend much of their day rote-learning subjects at school, Mike endeavours to make his classes fun-filled and enjoyable rather than more of the same they’ve been subjected to all day. He believes in the philosophy that children learn far faster when they are enjoying themselves and so incorporates games and fun practices into the lessons. Mike is proficient in Cantonese, which can aid the learning process in its early stage but its use is quickly reduced once the student’s English proficiency improves.
